Sex & Intimacy Counseling

  • Do you have an understanding of your sexuality?

  • Are you concerned about performance or low desire?

  • Do you feel safe and empowered expressing your sexual desires?

  • Are you able to tune into your body and sensuality, and experience pleasure?

  • Do you experience shame around your sexuality?

  • Do you know what you want, or are you stuck with what you think you should want?

Sex plays a powerful role in human bonding. Physical and emotional connection can lead to stronger relationships with ourselves and with others. The definition of good sex is what you find pleasurable and consensual. Sex is not about particular acts or positions or any of the mechanics of bedroom life. It is about exploring the depths of your sensuality.

Living in a sex-negative culture combined with early messages about your body and sexuality can inhibit your ability to embrace the wholeness of your sexuality. Sexual trauma, shame, guilt, self- doubt, and misinformation can keep you from exploring and enjoying a natural part of you that is designed for pleasure.

Sex therapy helps individuals and couples learn and understand the fullness of their sexual selves. The word, sensuality, includes all of your senses which are experienced through your body. Sex is sensual; sensations are somatic. There is nothing more somatic than sex. Your body and pleasure are intertwined, yet cultural messages may fuel disconnection from your body. Improving your connection to your body releases body discomfort and shame and helps you express the fullness of your being, which improves sex.

We discuss and normalize healthy sexuality and intimacy topics and work on resolving any conditions an individual or couple may be having in a comfortable and safe environment. Cultivate self-intimacy and discover another part of yourself.

Begin your path to sexual enjoyment and wholeness through:

  • Re-evaluating personal, familial, and cultural scripts.

  • Establishing healthy fluid boundaries.

  • Strengthening a sense of personal agency.

  • Building capacity for intimacy and charge.

  • Awakening sensual aliveness.
